At 09:56 hours, Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) was dispatched to the 200 block of E. Chestnut Street in neighboring Norristown Borough to assist the Norristown Fire Department on a reported dwelling fire.

Station 27 units arrived to find a 3 story twin with smoke showing. Ladder 43 with a crew of 4 responded and upon arrival assumed first due truck company responsibilities positioning on side alpha. The crew conducted searches in the fire building while the operator threw the main to the roof. First in crews from Quint and Engine 27 found fire in a 3rd floor bedroom and quickly extinguished the same.

Command placed the fire under control within the first 30 minutes. Ladder 43's crew remained on scene assisting with overhaul and cleanup until released just after 11:00 hours.
