At 16:26 hours yesterday afternoon, your Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) volunteers were dispatched to the 600 block of W. Maim Street to assist the Norristown Fire Department on a reported building fire.

Station 27 units arrived to find smoke showing from a 3 story twin apartment building. Ladder, Chief and Battalion Chief 43 responded with a crew of 6 and assumed 2nd due truck company responsibilities. The crew was placed in service in the bravo exposure evacuating residents and checking for smoke or any fire extension and finally with fans for ventilation.

First in engine companies made quick work of fire in the basement level and the incident was under control within 30 minutes. Station 43 was available from the scene by 17:30 hours.
