Early this morning at 02:05 hours, your Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) volunteers were dispatched to the 600 block of E. Airy Street to assist the Norristown Fire Department on a reported dwelling fire.

Station 27 units arrived to find fire showing from a 2nd floor front bedroom and extending. Ladder and Deputy Chief 43 with a crew of 6 responded and assumed 2nd due truck company responsibilities upon their arrival. The ladder's crew threw several ground ladders and then proceeded to the roof where they conducted vertical ventilation and opened up the soffit areas. Deputy 43 was assigned as the command aid for the duration of the incident.

An aggressive interior attack by first in engine companies held the fire with minimal extension. Ladder 43's crew remained on scene assisting with overhaul until being released by command and available just after 04:00 hours.
