At 22:55 hours, your Plymouth Fire Company No.1 (Montco 43) volunteers were dispatched to the 400 block of E. Moore Street to assist the Norristown Fire Department on a reported dwelling fire with possible entrapment.

NFD units arrived to a 2 story twin with fire showing from the Charlie and Delta sides and a resident unaccounted for. First arriving engine companies from station 27 immediately began search and rescue efforts while simultaneously placing a hand line in service to begin knocking down the fire. Engine companies did locate and remove 1 ressident from the fire building and turned them over to awaiting EMS.

Ladder 43 with a crew of 3 responded and assumed 2nd due truck company responsibilities upon arrival. The crew went to work throwing multiple ground ladders to the fire building and the bravo exposure. The crew then went to the roof and began opening up the rear soffit to check for fire extension.

Station 43 was in service for just over 2 hours before being released by command. Sadly, per officials of the Municipality of Norristown, the resident rescued from the dwelling succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. We offer our condolences and thoughts to all those affected by this unfortunate incident.
