It is the Mission of Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 to prevent the loss of life and to control and reduce the loss of property. We will accomplish this mission by applying all of our professional knowledge and resources in fire suppression, rescue, public education and professional development training.

Our Crew

The Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 with the assistance of their sister company the Harmonville Fire Company protect the 8.49 square miles of Plymouth Township, Montgomery County, PA. Our response area also includes over 8 miles of I-476, commonly known as the Blue Route. With a volunteer membership of over 40 men and women ranging in ages from 14 to 70, the Plymouth Fire Company No.1 responds to over 600 incidents a year both in our Township as well as providing mutual aid to the neighboring jurisdictions of the Municipality of Norristown, Conshohocken Borough, West Conshohocken Borough, Whitemarsh Township, East Norriton Township, Upper Merion Township, and Lower Merion Township.
Along with our volunteers the Plymouth Fire Company No.1 employs two fulltime firefighters during the work week, Monday through Friday from 7:00AM to 3:00PM. Our career staff responds to all incidents during their shift while being supplemented by our volunteers as well as maintaining the fire company's station, grounds, and all of its equipment.
All firefighting operations are directed by an elected fire chief who serves 3 year terms. They are assisted in their duties by appointed deputy chiefs, assistant chiefs, captains and lieutenants. All of our officers are responsible for all on scene command functions during the many incidents handled throughout the year. The administative operations of the fire company are handled by an elected president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, assistant treasurer and assistant secretary along with a 5 person board of trustees. Each administrative position is elected by the membership to terms of 3,2,or 1 year depending on the position.
The Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 currently responds with a fleet of 3 fire apparatus, 4 support vehicles, and 3 water rescue boats. Among our current vehicles are a 2018 Pierce 55' Skyboom Squirt, a 2013 105' Pierce Rear Mount Ladder, a 2024 Pierce Rescue-Engine, a 2006 Ford F-350 Fire Police truck, a 2001 Ford F-350 Utility/Water Rescue truck, a 2021 Ford Expedition Command Vehicle, a 2012 GMC Yukon Command Vehicle, and 3 Zodiac Rescue Boats.
