At 01:40 hours early this morning your Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) volunteers were dispatched to the Fire Chief's Memorial on Harding Blvd to assist the Norristown Fire Department on this reported building fire.
Ladder and Battalion Chief 43 with a crew of 4 responded and assumed 2nd due truck company responsibilities upon their arrival. Command would end up striking the 2nd alarm and placing master streams in service. Ladder 43's crew assisted with defensive operations as needed by command for the duration of the incident.
Station 43 was released by command and available after 04:00 hours. Our officers and members are extremely saddened at the loss of this historic building that served to memorialize so many amazing first responders in Norristown and our surrounding areas. We stand with all of our colleagues to ensure while the structure may go, its memory and the memories shared by so many of us there live on forever!
