At 04:46 hours this morning your Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) volunteers were dispatched on the initial assignment to the 500 block of Cherry Streer to assist the Norristown Fire Department on a reported building fire.
Station 27 units arrived on scene finding a 3 story MOR with fire showing from the Charlie division and confirming people trapped with victims visible from the windows. These units immediately went in service simultaneously rescuing the trapped residents and pulling a hoseline to begin extinguishment.
Ladder and Deputy Chief 43 with a crew of 5 responded and assumed 2nd due truck company responsibilities upon their arrival. The crew went in service on mutliple floors of the fire building opening up ceilings and assisting with extinguishment. Mutliple mutual aid agencies along with the NFD placed mutliple hoselines in service along with vertical ventilation to bring the fire under control. After extensive overhaul Station 43 was released by command and available just after 06:30 hours.
A TREMENDOUS job goes out to the Norristown Fire Department's "A" platoon on their heroic and life saving efforts this morning! A job well done also to all the regional operations companies and fellow mutual aid for a job well done and a positive outcome for the residents. Our thoughts and well wishes to the family affected by this incident for a speedy recovery!
