Just after 19:30 hours last evening the volunteers of the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) were dispatched to the area of Germantown Pike and Joshua Road in Whitemarsh Township to assist the Barren Hill Fire Company on a reported building fire.
Station 29 units originally dispatched to the area for an unknown type fire arrived to find a working fire in an outbuilding on the grounds of the country club prompting Chief 29 to upgrade the assignment.
Ladder 43 with a crew of 5 along with Chief 43 made the response. Upon the ladder's arrival the crew was placed in service opening up for the first in engine company while the chief assisted command as an aid. The crew from Engine 29 quickly knocked down all visible fire with an 1¾" handline and command placed the incident under control within the first 30 minutes. Station 43 was released and back in quarters just before 21:00 hours. |
