At 01:47 hours this morning the volunteers of the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) were dispatched to the 300 block of W. 3rd Street to assist the Bridgeport Fire Department on a reported building fire with entrapment.
First alarm companies arrived to a mutli story apartment building with fire showing from the rear and multiple residents trapped. Ladder 43 made the response and upon arrival were assigned to the 2nd floor to conduct secondary searches. During the course of their search the crew contacted multiple residents still inside their apartments and assisted them out of the building. The crew then continued with secondary searches on the 3rd and 4th floors.
First arriving engine and ladder companies were met with heavy smoke and fire conditions from a 1st floor apartment and quickly knocked down and extinguished the same while the truck crews made multiple rescues of trapped occupants.
Command placed the fire under control and station 43 was released and available from the scene after 03:30 hours. An absolutely tremendous job by the first alarm companies and all mutual aid for the strong work this morning! |
