At 16:10 hours yesterday afternoon, the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) was dispatched on the initial regional response to the 1000 block of W. Airy Street to assist the Norristown Fire Department on a reported building fire.
Station 27 units arrived to find a 3 story commercial property with apartments above and smoke showing. First arriving engine companies found fire in the ceiling and extinguished the same as the first due truck company opened up.
Ladder 43 responded and assumed the 2nd due truck company upon their arrival. The operator positioned on the Delta side of the fire buidling with the crew preforming a primary search and assisting with ventilation. Command placed the fire under control quickly and the ladder was released and available just after 16:45 hours.
