At 12:29 hours this afternoon, Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) volunteers and career staff along with the Harmonville Fire Company No.1 were dispatched to the 1300 block of Conshohocken Road in the area of the Schuylkill River Trail and Station Avenue for a general rescue. Calls into 911 indicated a bucket/boom truck operated by two workers had tipped over into a building with the two workers now injured on the roof of the building.
Rescue, Squirt and Chief 43 made the response immediately after dispatch. Units arrived on scene to find two Amtrak workers on top of a commercial building suffering from non-life threatening injuries after the accident. Command was established and crews positioned HFC's Tower 44 into the scene to assist in effecting the rescue of the two injured workers.
Crews from both companies assisted Plymouth Community Ambulance Association - Medic 308 on the roof in packaging both patients and then utilized Tower 44's bucket to safely remove both to the ground and into the care of EMS. Command marked the rescue complete just after the 20 minute mark and all units were made available just after 13:00 hours.
Great teamwork by both Plymouth Township fire companies on scene and a special thanks to Plymouth Ambulance and the Plymouth Township Police Department for your assistance! |
