Last evening at 23:49 hours, your Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) volunteers responded along with the Harmonville Fire Company No.1 to the 700 block of Erlen Road for a reported non commercial building fire. Initial 911 callers reported a garage on fire.
Chief 43 along with officers from the Plymouth Township Police Department arrived within 4 minutes to find a 10 x 20 detached garage with fire showing and exposure concerns on the bravo and delta sides of the structure.
Chief 43 established command and the working fire dispatch was struck brining in mutual aid from the Norristown Fire Department,Centre Square Fire Company, Norriton Fire Engine Company,the Barren Hill Volunteer Fire Company and Wissahickon Fire Company as the RIT companies and the Plymouth Community Ambulance Association - Medic 308.
HFC's Squad 44 arrived as the first due engine company and stretched an 1¾" line to begin knocking down all visible fire. Squirt 43 with a crew of 5 arrived simultaneously as Engine 44 and assisted in establishing a positive water supply and with extinguishment. Ladder 43 with a crew of 3 also made the response and assisted in securing utilities and overhaul.
Command placed the fire under control within 20 minutes with no further fire extension beyond the original fire building. There were no reported injuries. The Plymouth Township Fire Marshal's Office was on location to handle the fire investigation and companies were available just after 01:00 hours. Great work by all companies on scene! |
