At 11:28 hours this afternoon, your Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43) volunteers and career staff were dispatched along with the Harmonville Fire Company No.1 to the 100 block of Meetinghouse Lane in Plymouth Township for a reported dwelling fire. Initial reports to the Montco 911 center indicated a fire in the basement.
Harmonville's Chief 44 arrived to a 2 story single dwelling and reported smoke showing and requested the working fire dispatch struck. Upon completing a 360° assessment a working fire was found from the Charlie side of the home's basement level.
Squirt, Ladder and Chief 43 made the response minutes after dispatch. Engine 44 arrived as the first due engine and placed an 1¾" handline in service to knock down the fire. Squirt 43 arrived as the second due engine securing Engine 44's water supply and stretched a second 1¾" line to the basement. The crew of Ladder 43 upon arrival was placed in service opening up the walls, ceiling and window sill in the basement to check for fire extension.
Command placed the fire under control within 30 minutes with no further fire extension and no reported injuries to residents or first responders. The Plymouth Township Fire Marshal's Office was on location handling any further investigation.
